The Digital Storytelling Salon: A place to have a conversation

Historically, the Salon can be traced back to the French philosophical and literary movement of the 17th-18th century, neatly packed within the age of enlightenment. Although confined to the "elite" it was a place in which like-minded people would meet and converse on topics of interest.

English coffeehouses were also considered public social houses during the same period. However, unlike the French Salons, the coffeehouses were open to all men regardless of class.

In keeping with the "idea" and not the social and or gender status of initial Salon participants, this space will provide an environment in which Digital Stories and Public History conversations that include exchange of ideas will take place. It is the hope that this space will be the lightning bolt for conversation, creative approaches and change how we view others stories history and culture.

Entrance to the salon is open to all interested in Digital Storytelling and Public History.
